The Department of Turkish Language and Literature at Eskişehir Osmangazi University was established in 1996 and stands out with its expert academic staff and successful students. The main purpose of the department is to train experts who have received basic education in their field and to prepare students to a level where they can conduct comparative research with other Turkish dialects and literatures throughout the Turkish World.

Academic Staff and Education

There are 10 Professors, 5 Associate Professors, 4 Assistant Professors, 3 Lecturers and 3 Research Assistants working in the department. In addition to the four-year undergraduate program, a master's program is also carried out in coordination with the Social Sciences Institute of Eskişehir Osmangazi University.

Graduates' Successes

Graduates of the department can teach in schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education or in private schools; they can work as experts in the Ministry of Culture, the Turkish Language Association, and archives, and they can work in various units of TRT.
Events and Projects

The department organizes various events that contribute to the academic and social development of students. For example, the event titled "Plundering Journals and Periodical Publishing" organized within the scope of "Turkology Talks" contributed to the awareness of students about academic publishing.

The department organizes current announcements and events for its students. For example, the final exam program was announced on December 30, 2024 and students were helped to plan their exam preparations.
